The vessels of P. O. L. make reference, first
of all, to the four essential elements of Nature: earth, their substance;
air, their capacity of floating; fire, their interior light; water,
their transparency. But when we look at them carefully, we become
restless, since they don't correspond to our rational concepts of
solid, liquid and gaseous states of matter. They are objects full
of magic, with life on its own. They are ethereal. They are receptacles
containing light. They are made to contain light. They are subtle
references to the eastern culture, to the world of Zen. 2003
